Syracuse, NY – Today, State Senator Rachel May announced her endorsement of Dana Balter for Congress. Senator May was elected in 2018 and is the highest ranking elected Democrat in New York’s 24th district. Senator May represents New York’s 53rd Senate District and is the only Democratic state senator representing a district between Albany and Buffalo.
“I am proud to support Dana Balter in her campaign for Congress. Her campaign is about building community, engaging people in solutions, and making the strongest possible case for a government of, by, and for the people. She shows up, listens, and will fight for all of us to have good healthcare and a fair economy. Most importantly, I know she will always represent the people of the 24th district, not corporate interests–that’s why she has been able to build such a powerful grassroots movement. She ran an incredible campaign in 2018 and I am confident she will flip the district blue in November,” said Senator Rachel May.
“I am honored to have Senator May on our team; she is an incredible champion for central New Yorkers on key issues like healthcare, local jobs, our environment, and election security. I look forward to working in partnership with her to fight for working families in our area when I’m in Congress,” said Dana Balter, Democratic candidate for Congress.
Senator May’s endorsement is the latest show of strength from Dana Balter’s campaign. A poll released earlier this month showed Balter with a commanding 43% lead in the primary and the most recent quarterly fundraising report showed Balter with an edge in primary cash available. Balter has also led the field in endorsements.
